Welcome to Gilbert's, where the food is simple and delicious; a romantic setting and excellent service combine to present fine dining at its best.
Comprised of line-caught fish, free-range meats, and local, organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs, Gilbert's menu is cuisine with a conscience.
Located in an 1870's Queen Anne style mansion on the shore of Geneva Lake, Gilbert's diners enjoy spectacular views, inside and out.

We are now open for dinner 7 nights a week, beginning at 5pm.
We are also serving Lunch
on Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 11am to 2pm
and Sunday Brunch from 10am to 2pm
in our lakefront gardens and on our enclosed porch.

For unique accommodations, consider staying in the Aerie, perched atop the historic Gilbert's mansion. Equipped with a full kitchen, living room with fireplace, turret, sleeping loft, four bedrooms and three and a half baths, the Aerie is the prefect guest suite for two to twelve people.

For a small gathering, a group, or just the two of you,
there's nothing like celebrating with the finest food and wine at Gilbert's, which has been named the "Most Romantic Restaurant in the Midwest."

 



 

What distinguishes Gilbert's from other fine dining experiences is the way tradition and modernism artfully blend. The food, wine and home coalesce with simple, wonderful grace. Though the real foundation of Chef Hnilo's dishes enjoy their American and Pacific- Rim heritages. Chef Hnilo considers every detail of each dish to fit within the context of the lake geography, history,  traditions and viticulture. 

Every item on the menu has a reason for being there, with each dish balancing another, each flavor enhancing the last and each texture leading to the next. This is true, modern cuisine- a collection of seasonal elements in perfect balance, every dish a symphony of herbs, spices and oils in concert with meats, fowl and fish into a splendid whole.
